The pace of change in policing has never been faster than it is today. Here at PITO (Police IT Organisation),we enable forces to keep up-to-date with the latest developments - providing leading edge IT solutions, we help them to operate more efficiently and ultimately reduce crime.

Airwave is the new, enhanced radio communications system for the police. You will play a key role in improving national policing by representing PITO on all matters of Airwave Interoperability and Fleetmapping. Providing leadership, technical advice and guidance to the Police Service and other Airwave users, you will assist police forces and other users to establish interoperability arrangements between each other, ensuring sufficient capacity for all.

You will also attend relevant user group meetings, and forums and visit police forces to deliver national and regional training/ workshops. In addition you’ll review and refine operational guidance, manage and develop the PITO fleetmap and regularly review force fleetmaps to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and enhance best practice.

To make the most of this opportunity you should have experience of working in a project management/business change role within the Police Service or other public safety organisation, and also ideally have an understanding of trunked radio communications systems. With superb communication, negotiation and project management skills, you must also be logical, analytical and self-motivated,and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

In return, we offer a highly competitive salary and a comprehensive package of benefits, including flexible hours, pension scheme, discounted healthcare scheme, heavily subsidised childcare, interest free season ticket loan and the commitment to invest in your personal and professional development. This post is a home-based role requiring travel throughout the UK.
