Online Telematics Service Provider (TSP) Cybit has been awarded the 2007 European Light Commercial Vehicle Telematics award from Frost & Sullivan for Competitive Strategy Leadership.

The award is presented to the company whose business strategy has resulted in significant gains in market share and the award recognises Cybit’s ongoing commitment to delivering market-leading vehicle-tracking solutions.

Over the last year and a half Cybit has experienced considerable market growth through three essential acquisitions – increasing its customer base to over 1,500 clients and tracking over 40,000 assets.
Cybit’s success follows a long period of commercial expansion. In June 2006, Cybit acquired Bluefinger Limited, a vehicle and maritime telematics company, followed by Thales Telematics in February 2007. The acquisition of Amatics Limited in August of last year has now made Cybit a key provider of telematics solutions to the public sector. Over this time, Cybit has expanded with an increase of 60 per cent in the number of vehicles it tracks for its customers.

"Product development and our recent acquisitions are key elements of our strategic focus,” commented Cybit’s Chief Executive Officer Richard Horsman. “Any business has to continuously improve its products and services in order to differentiate themselves, retain their customers and sustain long term growth. We have now taken lead positions in a variety of sectors including maritime, the oil industry and the public sector, because of this commitment to on-going development.”

Cybit operates within three core sectors: Internet-based vehicle Telematics solutions; Excusive Economic Zone (EEZ) Management; and Private Mobile Radio (PMR) based asset tracking and precise positioning solutions.
Around 1,500 business-to-business clients use its fleet and asset management solutions to manage more than 40,000 assets primarily in the public sector, service industries and logistics and distribution markets. Solutions include in-vehicle technologies, workflow management and internet-based monitoring and reporting software. The company also provides consulting services to advise on operational and legal issues such as duty of care and working hours.
