Microsoft is running a series of seminar sessions in the Liverpool Echo Arena seminar theatre at the ACPO Conference and Exhibition on the 25th and 26th June, 2008. Microsoft and their technology partners will be providing insights into the ‘Microsoft Connected Policing Framework’ including solutions and technologies for policing.

Microsoft will also publish and distribute a new white paper entitled “The Connected Policing Framework” at the event discussing how Microsoft works with technology partners, law enforcement, public safety and justice organisations to create an integrated approach to public safety, e-policing and administration of justice.

Andrew Hawkins, the Global Public Safety and Justice Solutions Lead for Microsoft Corporation explains, “The seminars will showcase innovative policing solutions and technologies developed by our international partners and in close collaboration with both public safety and law enforcement customers. The sessions will cover a number of key areas, including geospatial simulation, command & control, intra and cross-agency collaboration and communication, case and records management, and intelligence and investigations.”

Bob Hayes, former Head of the UK National Technical Assistance Centre and Assistant Chief Constable at Cambridgeshire Constabulary, who now represents the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments in the UK, will be demonstrating a suite of emerging simulation and geospatial technologies and explaining their relevance to law enforcement agencies. Bob will be joined by three colleagues from Microsoft Corporation; Wayne Phillips, Andrew Hawkins and Gordon McKenzie from Microsoft’s Worldwide Government Group, who will present the Citizen Services Platform and Microsoft Intelligence Initiatives.

These seminars are free but Microsoft recommend that interested attendees consult the Show catalogue for final topics and timings and take their seats early in the Arena Seminar Theatre.

There are more details of the seminars at the Microsoft Connected Policing Community site at Connected Policing and further updates will be published as closer to the Conference. If you would like be emailed details of the seminar synopses or reserve a white paper, please email Ellie Jones at i-eljone@microsoft.com.
