Fortek Computers has been successful in bid for a Shoreline Response Management System (SRMS) for Pembrokeshire County Council.

As part of County Council’s commitments to the EROCIPS Project which includes European partners in France,Spain,Portugal,Ireland and Wales, the council sought to adopt a Shoreline Response Management System to provide a timely response to coastal oil, chemical and inert pollution incidents from shipping related incidents.

The Shoreline Response Management System is based on two separated solutions MICAS and ComNet which have been integrated to formulate SRMS meeting the requirements of Pembrokeshire County Council.

ComNet is a web browser based support tool for major incident and crisis management. It embodies major incident action plans, local risk information, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and an organisation chart to assist the management team to effectively deploy and monitor personnel and assets.

MICAS is designed to run on a tablet PC and enables a mobile incident team to document key events as an incident develops.

The SRMS will provide real-time information which can be shared by all parties involved in the rescue operation ensuring efficient communications between regional authorities, local government, statutory agencies and emergency services.

This can minimise the impact caused by the pollution on the assets of a coastal area.
