EADS has received three major contracts delivering its TETRA secure communications terminals to the Belgian fire brigades,to the Irish police, and to the Dutch police.

In Belgium, a special commission of the fire fighters selected TETRA THR880 and THR880i terminals by EADS after several tests.

The Irish police,An Garda Síochána,is running a local digital network in Dublin for its forces. The network has been in operational use since 2001 and continues to very successfully deliver highly secure communication services to the Dublin forces.

After a public tender issued by the police,EADS Secure Networks was rewarded the contract for the delivery of additional hand portable TETRA radios through its local distributor Radius Communication.

In the Netherlands,Regio Politie Amsterdam-Amstelland(RPAA)has chosen THR880i radios from EADS for their use in the C2000 network. As a result of the biggest terminal contract in the Netherlands, signed between RPAA and EADS distributor Zenitel, each field officer will have a personal THR880i radio for their use.The Amsterdam-Amstelland police force comprises the municipalities of Aalsmeer, Amsterdam,Amstelveen,Diemen,Uithoorn and Ouder-Amstel.

The RPAA opted for top-of the-range terminals to provide maximum security for its officers.

According to the RPAA,only the THR880i could provide the perfect combination of functionality and product quality.
