As reported in The BAPCO Journal last month, The Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) has awarded Cable & Wireless the Framework Arrangement for the new Police National Network (PNN3). Following on from this announcement, the technical assurance support is to be provided by Mason Communications.

In addressing the increasing requirements of PNN user communities, Mason provided PITO with technical advice in assisting with the development and production of the PNN3 Statement of Service Requirements (SSR). Forming an integral part of the PITO technical evaluation unit, Mason's consultancy team continued to provide PITO with the requisite technical assurance and security consultancy advice during the evaluation, negotiation and selection process.

Mason senior consultant, Rob Watkins says, “Mason is extremely proud of working in partnership with PITO in procuring the new PNN3 Framework Arrangement that will offer significant benefits with new and additional service features and functionality, robust services levels, and value-for-money services gained through the completion of the competitive tendering and negotiation process.”

Watkins concludes, “In supporting PITO, Mason recognised the strategic important of the PNN3 service given the breadth of services required by the criminal justice community and the role the PNN3 service provides in underpinning many key national programme initiatives.”
