The management of Athens’ Olympic Stadium has chosen Sepura TETRA hand-helds for its communications. This prestigious contract was won in conjunction with ANCO, one of Sepura’s authorised distributors for Greece. Sepura’s award winning SRP2000 hand-helds will operate on the 400-430 MHz frequency band and will be used by the stadium’s security and administrative personnel. Athens’ Olympic Games last year was based on TETRA technology; this was received very favourably by the event’s organisers and users alike. The Olympic Stadium was at the heart of the Olympic Games 2004. The staff of the Olympic Stadium had the opportunity to test and use TETRA terminals, from all major manufacturers, provided by the Organising Committee of the Games.

When the time came for them to purchase their own terminals, the stadium’s management chose Sepura radios for their robustness, functionality and extended battery life. The availability of local after sales support provided by ANCO was also instrumental in the final purchasing decision.

Jens Thostrup, International Sales Director for Sepura commented, "Our radios will be used in one of the most prestigious sport venues in the world and we are confident that they will enable the smooth running of all future events to be held at Athens’ Olympic Stadium".
