interactive whiteboard research
Steljes has recently undertaken a telemarketing research campaign targeting every emergency planning officer in local government to understand and assess the use of interactive technology.
Whilst the results are yet to be published, we can exclusively reveal that a significant number of epo’s feel that there is a need for standardisation across gold and silver commands, which echoes the CCA for standardisation and interoperability of core emergency planning technology.
Another area highlighted that training in the use of the technology would be better served than simply technology training. Steljes has also been working with Leeds University and the Professional Reference group (incorporating PITO, ACPO, HMIC) to identify what value whiteboards give to police and emergency planners. The research project has been ongoing for nine months and the results are due to be published in early May.
