Zetron Announces Its New Series 3300 VoIP 9-1-1 Call-Taking System

Zetron, Inc., has announced the introduction of the Zetron Series 3300 Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) 9-1-1 call-taking system. The Series 3300 is a standards-based solution that offers the advantages of IP without compromising reliability or performance. It retains the extensive and useful features available in Zetron’s Integrator 9-1-1 Computer Telephony Integration software while adding new features that increase system efficiency and interoperability.

The Series 3300 accepts standard 9-1-1 trunks, seven-digit emergency lines, caller-ID lines, wireless Phase 1 or 2, and, if the PSAP has service from a VoIP provider, VoIP calls. It also includes the following functionality:

Ensures that an emergency 9-1-1 system will keep running even if the system server or IP network goes down.

Ensures a quick adaptation to evolving industry standards. The Series 3300 is designed to always be current with NENA and other mission-critical standards. Because other solutions are dependent on expensive, proprietary solutions from PBX vendors, they are less responsive to such changes.

Allows for the creation of a network of PSAPs whose members can serve as backups for each other and share resources. With the system’s Intelligent Call-Overflow feature, if all operators at one PSAP are busy, calls are automatically routed to an alternate PSAP on the network.

Supports and easy migration from the Zetron Series 3200 to the VoIP-capable Series 3300.

"The Series 3300 is an example of Zetron’s commitment to deliver reliable, IP-based solutions that meet industry standards," said Zetron President, John Reece. "In addition, the Series 3300’s easy migration path to IP demonstrates Zetron’s commitment to support existing customers even as technology evolves."
