Guidelines on submitting editorial
The BAPCO Journal is the association's official magazine, containing news and articles relevant not only to the association membership but any Communication and IT professionals working in the fields of public safety and security. Published monthly, it is the only magazine in the UK dedicated to this market.
The BAPCO Journal also covers relevant topics as both informative features written by the editorial team along with topical case studies. In addition to news on all related issues and products, the journal welcomes and positively encourages editorial contributions from all its readers and association members, providing that (as far as possible) these are relevant, objective and informative.
How to gain case study coverage
If your organisation has recently implemented a new communications system, IT infrastructure or made any communications purchases that are helping improve the efficiency of your service, The BAPCO Journal can focus on your organisation with a case study.
Wherever possible, the editorial team will visit your organisation to interview and thus write up the article. Alternatively, if you prefer, articles can be submitted.
Case studies should follow these simple guidelines:
1. A brief overview of the organisation, including area covered, number of vehicles/appliances, number of 999 calls per year etc.
2. Details on the need for change / giving reasons behind the decision to implement the new system.
3. Brief details on the tender and contract award. Why the suppliers were chosen, why the products were selected etc.
4. When the system/products were delivered/implemented and the go live dates.
5. Details on any issues / problems during implementation and how they were overcome.
6. Information on how the service has improved its efficiency since implementation.
7. Any details on further developments for the future.
Images: A selection of images should ideally be supplied.
Suggested word count: 800-1200 words
